COMMUNIQUÉ OF THE QUARTERLY MEETING OF THE 27TH GRAND EXECUTIVE COUNCIL MEETING OF SHAFAUDEEN IN ISLAM AT HELD AT THE INTERNATIONAL HEADQUARTERS, WAKAJAYE, IWO ROAD, IBADAN BETWEEN 26TH AND 28TH AUGUST 2005

The Grand Executive Council of Shafaudeen In Islam held her 27th Quarterly meeting at the International Headquarters, Wakajaye, Iwo Road, Ibadan between 26th and 28th August 2005.

The meeting, which was chaired, by the Founder and Spiritual Head, Shafaudeen In Islam Worldwide, Engr (Dr) S.A. Olgoke, JP was well attended by Council members from home and abroad.

The Council deliberated extensively on various issues affecting the polity and observed as follows:

Morality the world over has continued to decay and this is adversely affecting human growth and development.

The debt relief of $18b as granted by the Paris Club to Nigeria is a welcomed development and that government efforts in this direction is commendable

A lot of Nigerians are today living in abject poverty, compounded by the astronomical rise in costs of living as exemplified in the high cost of food items.

The recent efforts of the Federal Government directed towards the coming National Census is commendable.

The Council thereby advised as follows:

That religious leaders have a task to accomplish in the spiritual growth of the people.  The houses of God should therefore play their parts as the mill-house in refining human rawness conscience minded products for good administration and governance.

That the government should revert to the former pump prices of fuel as any decision that will compound the prevailing harsh condition of living will be inhuman.  Government should in the alternative take steps to increase the capacity of local refineries as fuel importation has turned the gains of high crude prices into agony to the public.

That all Nigerians should support the conduct of the coming census 2005 and make it a success such that figures so generated will be acceptable and useful for planning purposes.

That politicians should allow God’s control of the polity as political heats being generated across the country is not in the interest of our fledging democracy

The Council then prayed for the peace of God to reign the world over.

Proliferation of Religious Houses a Good Sign but…

The Founder and Spiritual Head of Shafa’u-d-deen ‘L Islam Worldwide, Alhaji Sabitu Ariyo Olagoke (JP) has warned that even though the increase in the number of religious houses in Nigeria and other parts of the world (especially with the number of Mosques and Churches) may look like a good sign of acceptance of the existence of Allah, it is an indication that the will of Almighty Allah must be strictly adhered to for a peaceful coexistence and a beneficial earthly and heavenly reward from Allah. Alhaji Olagoke  said ‘It is not a question of numbers of houses of worship but a question of sincerity of purpose and worship’

Alhaji Olagoke stated this during the monthly National Executive Council meeting of the organization at the International Headquarters, Ibadan, Oyo State. He emphasized that religious houses should be places of true worship of the Almighty, who watches all.

He also condemned the spate at which some religious leaders pursue worldly gains at the expense of their congregation. According to him, it is no longer a hidden fact that some people establish religious houses for the purpose of making money as these groups of people see religious congregations as good business ventures.

Finally, he called on all to emulate the good examples of the Apostles of Allah in their relationship with Allah the Creator of all.

The World is not at Ease – Rasool Shafau

He emphasized that all strategies that does not recognize the importance of Allah and his will of humanity will definitely not pass the test of time. According to him one of the wills of Allah for humanity is justice and equity and for as long as this is not adhered to, there is bound to be difficulties in human relations.

According to him, the growing trend of democracy around the world should be watched carefully so as not to have capitalist democracy enthroned.
