The Founder
Shafaudeen’L Islam was founded by the Rasool Shafau (Imitizala Muhammad S.A.W) Alhaji Sabitu Ariyo Olagoke in 1983 with few other friends.An Engineer by profession, his founding of the organization is of a divine call and inspiration from Allah who miraculously, turned him away from an atheist stance to that of one who not only believes in Allah but also calls others to the way of Allah.
He was born on November 10th, 1954, at the Oja’ba area of Ibadan, to the family of Alhaji Quadri Akanbi Olagoke and Alhaja Humuani Atoke Olagoke at Are Alasa Compound, noted for being the originating point of several renowned Islamic Scholars.
He started his academic carrier at the Christ Church School, Mapo, Ibadan from where he moved to Prospect High School Aba Nla, Ibadan. He studied Chemical Engineer at the then University of Ife, now Obafemi Awolowo University. Rasool Shafau (Imitizala Muhammed) as he is called, in the quest for more knowledge obtained his Masters degree in Mechanical Engineer at the University of Ibadan. He has published several academic books on Engineering as well as in religion, generally and Islam in particular. He has to his credit and to the glory of Almighty Allah a lot of research studies in the area Engineering and Religion.
He is a member of the following professional bodies: Nigeria Society of Chemical Engineers; Nigeria Society of Engineers; Nigeria Institute of Engineering Management; Nigeria Institute of Management; Registered Engineer (COREN).
He is a Chief Lecturer and currently the Head of Department of Mechanical Engineering, Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, Ogun State, Nigeria.
A columnist, with some Nigerian Dailies, Rasool Shafau (Imitizala Muhammed) has received several honors and awards from reputable organizations and institutions both within and outside the country.
A devoted and divinely inspired person of God Rasool Shafau (Imitizala Muhammed) is a strong advocate of a just and peaceful society as the basis for the growth and development of any nation. He is an avouched advocate of women’s human rights in particular and human rights in general.
Alhaji Olagoke is a philanthropist and a lover of sports. In 2004, Shafaudeen Football Club was established and in the same year, the first Rasool’s Cup competition was organized. Since than, he has also established another football club known as Olagoke Babes. Both football clubs are dynamic with resourceful players.
His academic background has influenced his Da’awah strategies in the propagation of the religion of Almighty Allah – Al Islam, vis-a-vis the content and contextual meaning of the different injunctions.
He is the overall Founder and Spiritual Head of the organisation worldwide and is happily married and blessed with children.
